Upgrading Home Aid’s digital space.
Home Aid are much loved local charity in Bathgate who have been providing furniture to those in need in the West Lothian community for over 30 years.
Previously the charity were selling their pre-loved furniture on Facebook, with potential customers being required to call the shop and complete their purchase over the phone.
Following on from the complete brand redesign we undertook in 2021, we set to building them an online home capable of bringing more furniture to more homes, as efficiently as possible.
A robust delivery
Like many, Home Aid’s business was heavily impacted by the 2020 Covid-19 outbreak and prompted a need to move offline sales online.
Using the Shopify platform as a basis, we undertook a complete design and build of the charity’s new online home. The outcome was a robust and integrated e-commerce website allowing customers to browse, filter and purchase the full range of products available from Home Aid’s warehouse. The Content Management System (CMS) encompasses a stock, delivery and live analytics system as well as the ability for customers to create online accounts, allowing for easy order tracking and communication.
The brand was also expanded upon with 25 new illustrations featuring our favourite feathered friends and there was now a platform to share Home Aid’s story, purpose and the excellent service the charity provides the West Lothian community.

Outstanding results
As happy we were with the final outcome of the online store itself, we were blown away by the financial results this brought the charity (below). And most interestingly, despite the ability for people to now order from the comfort of their own living room, in-store sales also increased the same year, which is testament to the increased overall brand appeal.
